I run operations,
and I build things.
Retired U.S. Air Force senior leader — twenty years of mission-critical operations, operational test across a $4B portfolio, and aircrew training at scale. These days I point that at civilian problems, and spend my spare hours on computers, radios, drones and whatever else is on the bench.
Who I am
What I can do
Six ways the same twenty years gets described, depending on who is asking.
Operations Leader
Running the thing that has to work, with the people and budget it actually has.

Scope, schedule, cost and the awkward conversations that keep them honest.
Read the detail →Technical Program Manager
Close enough to the engineering to be useful, far enough out to steer it.
Read the detail →Training Manager
Turning a syllabus and a schedule into qualified people, repeatedly.
Read the detail →Technology Manager
Picking the tools, owning the rollout, living with the consequences.
Read the detail →Jack of all trades
The honest version: I learn the thing and then I do the thing.

Off the clock
Things I actually do
None of this is for a résumé. It is where the curiosity goes when nobody is assigning it — and it is usually where the work skills came from first.
Family
The reason the rest of it is worth doing. Most projects start as something one of them needed.
Outdoors
Away from screens on purpose. Good for the parts of a problem that need to sit unsolved for a while.
Computers
Home lab, self-hosted everything, and a standing argument with my own network diagram.
Radios
LoRa, antennas, and the small thrill of a packet arriving from further away than it should.
Drones
Build, fly, break, repair. A short feedback loop that punishes hand-waving.
Gaming
Where a lot of the systems thinking came from, and still how I switch the work brain off.
