Jack of All Trades
Master of several — and still collecting.
The five portfolios on this site each answer one question: can he do this job? This page answers the other one: who are you actually hiring? Twenty-plus years and a Master Sergeant’s worth of stripes — roughly 4,500 flight hours, 900+ instructor hours, $6.4M stewarded, a $4B test portfolio supported — and a home life that looks suspiciously like more of the same: platforms designed and shipped, a full home lab, an RV, a smart home, and an aquarium, all kept mission-capable. Hire me for one lane; the other lanes come free.
The Lanes
Each lane has its own portfolio and tailored résumé. This page — and its résumé — is all of them at once.
Beyond the Uniform
The résumé version is four pages. The short version: the work follows me home, and I let it.
Built, Not Bought — the personal software portfolio
- MRDOTS.US platform family — this site, an adaptive PMP learning platform, a business command center, and a dozen web apps, all designed, built, and operated end-to-end.
- A private family legacy platform — security-architected, offline-deployable, tested. The most important system I’ll ever administer.
- Design included — brand system and UI by the same guy, since the early 2000s.
The Home Lab — enterprise habits, residential address
- UnRaid · pfSense · Ubiquiti · Docker · a Raspberry Pi fleet (RetroPie, VPN, Pi-hole)
- Home Assistant & openHAB — automated lighting, A/V, and security cameras
- Windows, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, Kali — comfortable anywhere there’s a shell; AWS for fun and learning
Hands-On — no keyboard required
- Home improvement & repair — fixed in-house first
- RV life — operations management, 65 mph edition
- Aquarium keeping — live stakeholders, strict water-quality SLAs
Off the Clock — and the honest truth about the clock
- Travel and RV adventures with family and friends
- Casual gaming — Steam and handhelds
- GMRS license · ham (receive-only) · Meshtastic · FL boating safety
What actually balances it
The work/life line is blurry, and I consider that a feature — my workday and my free time are full of the same things. What balances it is people. The best units I served in became extended family, and that’s what I’m looking for in the next chapter: workplace connections and peers worth keeping long after the org chart changes.
The complete résumé — all lanes, one document
Four pages: the full career record, training history, decorations, the home lab, and the person behind all of it. Locked, ATS-safe, and honest to a fault.
